Development

For the past few seasons, Centex has been the most competitive college women's tournament of the spring season. We hope to continue that tradition, while also expanding opportunities for up-and-coming teams as well as regionally competitive teams in Texas and the South. This spring, we plan to host 56 women's teams in three divisions the weekend of March 24-25.  The past two years, we have hosted some special development opportunities.  We intend to offer something again this year, and will post more information here when it becomes available.  Please read below for more information about the opportunities we have offered the past two years.

2010
In 2010, we held a captains and coaches clinic Friday night before the tournament. Lou Burruss (Oregon), Cara Crouch (ex-Texas), and Alex Korb (UCLA) each talked about various aspects of team and program building.

2011
Last year, a panel of current and former college captains and coaches available to answer questions about building a college team.  Panelists included Tracy Woo, Lindsey Hack, Lou Burruss, Danny Karlinsky, Jamie Nuwer, Carolyn Finney, and Shannon Waugh.  We also offered guest coaches to a limited number of teams for the weekend.  Our goal was for experienced club players to help young college teams develop team strategy as well as give individual players feedback.  We also wanted to strengthen relationships between the college and club community in Austin, as well as encourage our local club players to give back.  Our guest coaches were Mike "Tank" Natenberg, Ryan Bigley, Hugh Daschbach, Cara Crouch, Tracy Woo, AJ Tiarsmith, and Katherine Russett.
